New for 2009! Well, it was worth the wait! "Celeste" is the first new doll by Catherine this year and she is just stunning! We have just posted her below. Don't miss as well our Flapper below by Catherine! We have ordered in in a ooak version in a beautiful peach color vs. the celadon green shown (although she is also available this way). We are accepting custom orders with specific color requests. Another favorite of ours in the past year was Jane - we just loved her shoes! What a beautiful collection she has! Also new for our last show was "Lily" - we thought her dress was beautiful but we did choose to have her wings done in the fabric (similar to the ooak shown to the left here) vs. the wings shown. You can however once again have Lily done as shown. Catherine's work is just exquisite. The prices on her small edition porcelain work are exceptional and there are few that can give you this value for the money.

Catherine participated in our last doll show (Oct 2008) and (Oct 2007) - our 25th anniversary show! She will participate in our 27th annual doll show (Oct 2009)! This talented Australian artist has amazing attention to detail. Her small limited editions are reasonably priced and gorgeous. We began carrying Catherine's work about five years ago and they have become a big hit w/collectors.

Artist Bio Courtesy of Catherine Mather: Catherine, an internationally known doll artist, has been sculpting original dolls for over 17 years. Her career started as a costume designer, and progressed to doll making. Over the years Catherine has sculpted numerous genre's of dolls, including: Victorian Era, Baby Dolls, Children, Fairies, Cherubs, Shadowbox Dolls and more. She is also known for her unique Teddy Bears, which are cute as a button with detailed faces. The incredible details are achieved by using a hard under mask.

This is our Dollery Exclusive Lily dressed in flowing silk chiffon with a metallic gold border. Her over dress is soft vintage net in matching pale green with metallic lace detailing. It is fastened with delicate jewels and suspended seed pearl drops. Lily has auburn Lester fleece hair. Her tiara is silver and gold tone set with diamante. she wears spun wire and pearl slippers. Her wings are colored silk organza. Catherine will do 2 of her exclusively for the Dollery this way and 4 more in this exclusive costume design in a variety of hair and dress colors. She will create the same romantic feel and design of the dress again but in different antique colors such as pink, lavender, peach and blue. You can choose dress and hair colors. Auburn, pale blonde, chestnut, brown, red, strawberry, light blonde or light brown hair are options with same styling of wig.

Notes on her 2007 line - The 2007 dolls are shown below. Catherine's fairies are always wonderful and this one is not exception! Nadine & Zar is beautifully done. The dog was poured in porcelain by Catherine's mother an hand covered w/mohair - wonderful! Catherine has also worked hard on her interpretation of Nicole Kidman shown below in two outfits in the pink and the black evening gown.

Strolling down the avenue, Nadine and Zar, her Russian wolf hound. Nadine is dressed in ivory silk jersey. Her Art Nouveau ensemble features a hobble skirt and jacket with stand up collar, ivory gloves, shoes and a striking black and ivory tower hat are a wonderful combination. Zar is hand made in porcelain and mohair. They are displayed on a faux marble stand. Height 18 1/2" (47cm) The stand measures 6" x 14" (15cm x 35.5cm)

2006 Dolls

Ariel - (above & below) Beautiful pose - LE/15, 23" all together on stand. Sitting on her antiqued cream and gold column, she is dressed in a silk tulle gown, hand shaded in moss green and Persian gold, with an antique golf trim on the bodice. Her hair is made from Lester wool and beautiful silk ribbon roses adorn her hair. She has large blue and bronze silk wings.

Amethyst (below), LE/15, Second in the Precious Jewel series of Art Dolls, celebrating jewels and wonderful colors of precious stones, Amethyst is dressed in hand dyed amethyst silk, silk chiffon and cream silk tulle, her hair is Auburn mohair, adorned with hand made flowers, about her neck she wears an Art Deco style pendant. All porcelain Amethyst's seated height is 15" or 38cm on the stand she is 17" high or 43cm

Cleo (below) This charming dress of black velvet, antique lace and silk is a figure hugging style that dates from 1912.
Cleo's wig is made of platinum blonde mohair. $1,390

Cleopatra (below) Looking as if she has just stepped down from a wall painting, Cleopatra is dressed in a white chiffon gown and wears a glass hand beaded collar, in traditional Egyptian colours.
