“Akilah”
holds her baby, designed to be her dolly not her sister. She comes with
her pink stroller finished in silk, lace and vintage handkerchiefs. Her
neck and arms are posable and moveable. Be gentle though! Her wig was
custom made by Sarah and tied with buttons. Some of the buttons on the
baby say “baby.” Akilah’s non removable shoes are hand made by Sarah in
pink leather. Her dress is sewn from pink silks and finished with a soft
white sweater adorned with pink tulle roses. The same roses are on her
skirt. Her baby’s dress is sewn from soft white and pink eyelet laces
and silks trimmed with pink silk and a tulle rose. Beautiful!

SUZANNE AND SUGAR
Suzanne and Sugar
are celebrating a birthday! Sugar wanted a birthday party complete with
party hats and her own doggy cake.
Suzanne sits 15”
high and is 17” long. Suzanne is sculpted from Cernit. The Cernit has
been cured and painted softly with acrylic paints. Her solid body has a
sturdy wire armature throughout. She is sculpted to her upper arms and
to her knees. Her neck is posable and can be gently moved into the
position desired. Suzanne’s arms are slightly movable. Her fingers are
wired for extra strength.
Suzanne’s outfit is
sewn using fine silk, silk velvet and lace.
Sarah made her
mohair wig out of dark brown mohair. It is held back with a rhinestone
hairpiece. Her eyes are a light blue hand-blown glass.
Sarah has done all
of the work on Suzanne and Sugar.
Sugar is sewn from a pattern designed by
Lisa Pay an Australian Bear designer. Sarah sculpted her sweet little
pug nose. After she completed Sugar she made her a little dress out of
silk, silk velvet and lace.
Sarah made Sugar’s
cake with clay hand forming all of the roses and doggy bones.
